The questions EuroClojure must ask
Is the Clojure ecosystem still a top choice? Would you start a new application in Clojure today? EuroClojure 2027 should be a place where the community can examine those questions honestly rather than assume the old answers still hold.
The program will combine talks selected through the Call for Papers with invited perspectives. We want to explore reliable and secure systems in the age of AI, lessons from Clojure dialects and neighboring ecosystems, recent database developments, useful tooling, and ideas from beyond the familiar community boundaries.
Questions already raised include:
- Does language choice remain relevant when AI can seemingly produce code in any language?
- Is Claude Code the ultimate REPL?
- Does choosing Clojure still make business sense?
- What would make Clojure more attractive to developers and organizations?
- What are today's Clojure success stories?
Two conference packages are planned. Both include the two conference days, talks, lunches, refreshments, and a Prague public-transport ticket. The business package adds a Thursday evening gathering at Červený Jelen for the ticket holder and one companion, with another quieter meeting space planned at the top of OREA Hotel Pyramida.
Friday's closing gathering in the Břevnov Monastery cellars will be ticketed separately. The evening is planned around dinner, drinks, live cimbalom music, and time to continue conversations outside the formal program.

EuroClojure 2027 will be held under the auspices of Karel Havlíček, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, and Zdeněk Zajíček, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce. Kris Jenkins will join us to introduce and moderate one of the conference tracks.
